Riva Bacquet is the COO at SA Expeditions, a virtual travel company that specialises in curating bespoke travel experiences to the Americas and around the world.
She believes that travel should be a force for good, balancing profit with purpose. This led to SA Expeditions achieving B Corp status in 2020 amongst many other company initiatives.
Summary
This is a conversation about meaning and purpose, both in a personal and a professional sense.
How do you create the company you want to be a part of? And that everyone within it wants to be a part of?
And beyond that, a company that everyone impacted by it appreciates and wants to engage with?
Riva has uncovered many of the answers to those questions. She has built SA Expeditions with her partners to serve all the stakeholders involved, whilst also allowing her to live the life she wants to lead.
We talk about purpose and why B Corp status was so important to them. We cover remote teams and how to make them work. And we talk a lot about personal growth and the constant mission to learn and improve.
And all this came from Riva taking a punt on a couple of guys starting a travel company in Peru many moons ago. There’s a lesson in itself right there.
This immediately felt like the perfect episode to round off Season 2, and I’m excited to share it with everyone. I loved it, I’m sure you will too.
Enjoy!
